Welcome to the official restoration of Danny Semaya's
original CGL site, the most complete Camp Green Lane resource
on the internet, with an extensive library of color war song
lyrics dating back to 1962.
After over two years on hiatus the site has now returned
in archive form. It will no longer be updated but is available
for historic purposes. Visitors are encouraged to download the
material and use it to start their own CGL web pages. Good luck.
Backstory:
In November of 1999 I cancelled my account with my old ISP, Community
Schools Networks (a joke of a company). This site was originally
hosted on the CSNet server at the now infamous address: http://people.csnet.net/danny.
After cancelling the account I still had access to the site for
about two months before CSNet caught on and cut me off. However
they were never smart enough to actually delete the site from
their servers and it continued to stay there, for about 6 months.
During that time CSNet was bought out by a larger company, Winstar4EDU
(which has since disappeared) and I guess nobody noticed that
the site was there for a good while. Many people got very frustrated
with the site's lack of updates. There were some nasty notes
on the Field Office (guest book) page. The summer of 1999 was
my last summer at camp, and therefore I had no motivation to
continue the site. Winstar shut down my site at some point in
2000 (I'm not really sure when). I had thought that the site
was lost forever, but thanks to archive.org
and an old backup CD that I found, I was able to find most of
the content from the site in the summer of 2002. I then touched
a few things up and moved it to my school account. Here it will
stay, probably until I graduate. I will then need to find a new
home for it. I put a lot of work into this site back in high
school and I know a lot of people miss it so here it is folks.
Many peices of the site are missing and there's really nothing
I can do about that. Sorry.
